Update Instructions


Preparation:
It is recommended to save the parameters of the LMS5xx device on your PC as backup.


Update Instructions:

- Do NOT use SOPAS ET for firmware updates of LMS5xx.
- Download the latest version of the firmware: https://www.sick.com/downloads/media/swp671423
- Save and unpack the files on your local hard disk (please use full ADMIN rights on your PC).
- Open the file FirmwareUpdate.bat
- Make sure the LMS5xx is connected via Ethernet to your local PC and booted up. Make sure, that power supply does not interrupt during the update process.
- Enter the IP address of the LMS5xx, press ENTER.
- Enter the userlevel: "service", press ENTER
- Enter the related password of the device (default: "servicelevel"), press ENTER
- The device will reboot several times during the update.
- The update procedure of this firmware version may take up to 25 minutes.
- Wait until the message appears that the update has been installed successfully.
- Before the LMS5xx is used for operation, ensure the device works as expected and that all parameters are set as intended. In case of uncertainty:
   - Set factory defaults in the device (login as "Service")
   - Load the backup-parameters in the device
