Retroreflective sensors for transparent object detection with IO-Link eg. like the WLG4SC*A00 can be parameterized in 4 different ways.
1. IO-Link with SOPAS (SDD)
2. IO-Link with e.g. PLC or FDT container (IODD)
3. teach button
4. external teach via line
Retroreflective sensors for non transparent object detection without IO-Link eg. such as the WLG4S-3F3234 1043840 offer two options:
1. teach button
2. external teach via cable
These parameterization types differ from each other and provide more or less functions depending on the type.
For example, on the standard device without IO-Link, 3 different teach-in modes can be selected with a fixed damping via the teach duration time.
If we now look eg. at the sensor for transparent object detection WLG4SC-3P2232A00 1057177 as IO-Link version it is noticeable that a teach-in via button or cable provides fewer functions.
We could also see in the IO-Link operating instruction that the preset values differ from those of the standard variants without IO-Link.
Good to know: If we set an IO-Link device in SOPAS to a manually selected switching threshold value, this applies to both switching outputs (Q1 and Q2). It is not possible to assign an individual value to both outputs in SOPAS.
To do this, index 60 (setpoint 1) and 62 (setpoint 2) must be described separately via IODD.
It should therefore be noted that the teach button on the device without IO-link assigns other values to the switching threshold.
