DL100 Pro product portfolio contains two generally different PROFINET versions DL100-xxxxx112 (PROFINET) and DL100-xxxxx212 (PROFINET-High Feature). On first view both versions look the same. They offer the same range of features and device parameters even if some of the parameter look slightly different in the corresponding device description GSD files. The significant difference is the PROFINET available Netload Class:
- DL100-xxxxx112 (PROFINET): this initial version was introduced in year 2013 when there were no mandatory netload tests to get PI certification. This version has no PROFINET Netload Class specification.
- DL100-xxxxx212 (PROFINET-High Feature): this version was introduced in year 2018. Due to improved hardware it´s conform to highest available PROFINET Netload Class 3 (Advanced robustness against netload). It offers a high safety margin for extended PROFINET use cases.
Please note: the two versions use different gsd files which are not compatible to each other.
