The power supply for the outputs of the scanner can be provided in several ways. Connect them directly from a power supply, or use the common power supply for the scanner. The yellow switches in the system connector are defining from where the outputs get their voltage. Description depands on the LMS500Pro: with the sliding switch S1 you choose the power supply for the outputs. S1 like on the picture means that the outputs will be powered with the System power of the Scanner. (Pin 1 and 2; 24V Sys and GND Sys). In the other position you have to power the outputs from external over the Pins 14 and 15 (24V Ext and GND Ext). S2 is used for the GND of the inputs: S2 is for the GND of the inputs 1/2 and 3/4. Like in the picture below the input GND is coming from the GND which was choosen over the S1 slider switch. (Default Power supply from the Sensors (Pin2)). In the other position you have to use the GND of the inputs over the pins 8 and 9. mit dem Schiebeschalter S1 wählen sie die Versorgung der Ausgänge. Pin Name Pin no. Systemplug LMS500 (indoor Lite)
Factory defaults of the yellow switches from the LMS500 Indoor (PRO/Lite) Systemplug:
Function of the S1 switch:
If the switch is set to 24_SYS/GND_SYS (V_OUT_SYS / default), it is not necessary to power the outputs externaly over the Pins 14/15 (PRO) or Pins 9/10 (Lite). The power for the outputs is used from the 24V/GND from the scanner. Means a lamp/relais etc. could be connected directly to the output 1-6 of the scanner, and the other pin to the common GND of the power supply of the scanner (where pin 2 is connected to). If the switch is set to 24_EXT/GND_EXT (V_OUT_Ext), this two pins (14/15 PRO ; 9/10 Lite) have to be connected to an external power supply. Also if something is conneced to the outputs 1-6, the GND of the lamp/relais has to be connected to this ext. GND (where the Pin 15 (PRO) / Pin 10 (Lite) is connected to) Function of the S2 switch: (Remark: the resistors where the values is in brackets (0R) are not implemented/assembled)
If the S2 switch is on position V_Out SYS, the 24V Signal for the e.g. INx (24V) should come from the same power supply like the S1 is set to, also the GND for e.g. GND IN1/2 - GND IN3/4. If the S2 switch is set to the other position (marked as PIN19/20 on the PCB) , the GND IN 1/2 and GND IN 3/4 have to be conneced to the ext. power supply. Also the 24V for the INx Signal , should come from this power supply.
