FTMg firmware update/ downgrade (only Ethernet version)

This FTMg firmware update tutorial is only valid for FTMg Ethernet versions and not for FTMg Industrial versions!

You can find the latest firmware version attached to this tutorial. Other firmware versions are available on request.

 

 

 

1. Update/ downgrade of FTMg v2.x.x, v3.x.x or v4.x.x (recent firmware)

Only devices with v2.x.x, v3.x.x or v4.x.x firmware can be updated/ downgraded to a v2.x.x, v3.x.x or v4.x.x firmware version.
Devices with v1.x.x firmware can not be updated to v2.x.x, v3.x.x or v4.x.x.
  1. Open the FTMg Webserver.

  2. Log in as Maintenance (Password: airflowsensor).

  3. Navigate to "Firmware Update" on the left bottom side.
  4. Click on "Start Firmware Update" and select the update firmware folder (*.zip). Do not change the file. Use the same .zip folder which you downloaded from the SICK website. 

  5. If the compatibility check was successful start the download by clicking "yes". The sensor will transmit the firmware file to the sensor. After transmission is complet the FTMg asks you to klick "OK" to start the update.

     

    During the update the sensor restarts. Do not disconnect the power supply during the update. The update status can be found on the FTMg display.

  6. When the sensor displays measurement data, the update is finished.
 

 

 

 

2. Update/ downgrade of FTMg v1.x.x

Only devices with v1.x.x firmware can be updated/ downgraded to another v1.x.x firmware version.
Devices with v2.x.x, v3.x.x or v4.x.x firmware can not be downgraded to v1.x.x.
  1. Open the FTMg Webserver.

  2. Log In as Maintenance (Password: airflowsensor).

  3. Navigate to "Firmware Update" on the left bottom side.

  4. Click on "Upload" and select the update firmware file. If the update file is located in a zip folder, unzip it. Only upload the .sup file to the sensor.

  5. Restart the sensor and follow the instructions on the display.

     

  6. When the sensor displays measurement data, the update is finished.
