The SCS60 / SCM60 and SCS70 / SCM70 Hiperface encoder

What about the old SCS60 / SCM60 and SCS70 / SCM70 Hiperface encoders?

Table of Contents

What was the SCS60 / SCM60 and SCS70 / SCM70 Hiperface encoder?

The SCS60 / SCM60, SCS70 / SCM70 was an old HIPERFACE® encoder series, which had 512 SIN/COS periods per rotation.

Unfortunately, we do not have Hiperface encoders, with 512 SIN/COS periods per rotation, any more.

There is no 1:1 replacement available. If the customer has the possibility to connect a HIPERFACE® encoder with 1024 SIN/COS periods, than they can use a SRS50 / SRM50 or SFS60 / SFM60 for replacement (depending which encoder series is mechanically closer).

The customer has to decide about the mechanical design, which is most suitable to adapt to their application.

The SCS60 / SCM60, SCS70 / SCM70 was available as "Stegmann" device and as a "SICK" device.

→ the type code was at the Stegmann (older) device different to the SICK (newer) device.

The data sheets, which are attached, are the SICK data sheets.

Special Devices

If you need a data sheet or further information to a special device of the SCS60 / SCM60, SCS70 / SCM70, please contact your local SICK subsidiary.
