The SEK52 / SEL52 Hiperface encoder

The SEK52 / SEL52 was a capacitive encoder system. It is also build without bearings and is communicating via HIPERFACE®.

This encoder is very similar to the SEK37 / SEL37 or SEK34 / SEL34.

• From the interface point of view, it is exactly like the SEK37 / SEL37 or SEK34 / SEL34
• The single turn and the multi turn sensing unit is the same as from the SEK37 / SEL37 or SEK34 / SEL34 but the mechanical interface is completely different. It was basically bigger from the diameter, but not that high.

There were 3 mounting systems available:

• top: hollow shaft with shoulder clamping
• middle: tapered shaft
• bottom: hollow shaft

The SEK52 / SEL52 was phased out at 20.12.2017.

The replacement is the SEK37 / SEL37.

It is electrically compatible but is different from the mounting.
