PC Cleanup Steps

Windows

1.)  Go to "Programs and Features" or "Installed App" depending on the version of Windows.

2.)  Look for Analytics and Analytics Patches.  Always uninstall the Analytics Patches from newest to oldest.  Then uninstall Analytics.  In the event of a failed uninstall continue with the rest of the steps and then refresh "Programs and Features" or "Installed Apps" to clear the entries.

3.)  In "Programs and Features" or "Installed App" verify MySQL Server and MySQL Community are not installed.  If so, uninstall Server first

4.)  Open the Services panel and make sure there are no SICK or MySQL services listed.  As of Version 4.6.2, the services associated with the Analytics software are listed as follows:

  • SICK ActiveMQ Artemis (artemis-service)
  • SICK An AAP (lda-aap)
  • SICK An DACQ (lda-dacq)
  • SICK An Dynamic Dashboard (lda-dd)
  • SICK An Media Server (sick-bip-is)
  • SICK An MySQL (mysqllda)
  • SICK An Services (lda-services)
  • SICK Influx Service (influx-service)
  • SICK Node-red (sick-nodered)
  • SICK Support and Maintenance Service (ssms-service)
  • SICK Telegraf Service(sick-telegraf).
  • Older versions will list less services.

If the services exist, follow these steps to remove them.  :

  1. Open the "cmd" as Administrator (or as SICK Privilege Elevation)
  2. Type the command "sc delete SERVICE NAME" at the command prompt.  The SERVICE NAME is found in the service properties. Access it by right clicking the service and selecting properties.  See the images below.
  3. Refresh the service list.
  4. The status of the service could be "disabled", but the service still may exist. Please, restart the machine in this case. Verify the MySQL service does not exist after the restart.

5.)  Delete the folder MySQL from the "C:\Program Files", "C:\ProgramData", and "C:\Windows\Temp" if they exist.  Check other drive(s) if a different installation path was used.

6.)  If exists, C:\Program Files\SICK\Analytics Solutions folder and C:\Program Files\SICK\SickSupportAndMaintenanceService.  Check other drive(s) if a different installation path was used.

7.)  Delete the hidden folder "C:\Program Files\Zero G Registry".  If hidden files and folders are not showing, follow these steps:

      1. Click on File Explorer Options
      2. Click on View tab and under Advanced Settings and in the "Advanced settings:" locate "Hidden files and folders"
      3. Select "Show hidden files, folders, and drives"
      4. Click Apply and OK

8.)  Delete files from the folder "C:\Users\<User Name>\AppData\Roaming\MySQL" if any. Don't delete the folder "MySQL Workbench".

9:)  Go to C:\Users\<username> folder and delete the "InstallAnywhere", ".InstallAnywhere", "_SICK Analytics Solutions_installation" and "_SICK Analytics Solutions [Version Number] Patch_Installation" folders

10.)  In the Windows registry check for the existence and delete the following registry keys.

  1. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\MySQL AB
  2. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MySQL AB

11.)  If it exists, delete the installer.properties file where the Analytics installation file(s) are located and ran.  If the installer.properties is left it can interfere with the Analytics installation and cause unintended results.
