What is the hysteresis of capacitive proximity sensors?
Article No: KA-09413
Version: 1.0
Subject to change without notice
According to sensor standard the max. allowed hysteresis for capacitive proximity sensors is 20%.
In our internal tests we realized a hysteresis of around 10% but these value isn't guaranteed and the application influences eg. change in composition of the detection material, conductivity/ humidity/ amount of water contained in the detection material, mounting situation, wall thickness, ... can always change the sensors switching behaviour.
Therefore as always we recommend intensive tests in the real application environment instead of calculating with theoretical values.
