What is the material of the front cover LPC-DX50?

• The black frame is made of Makrolon.

• The window is PMMA.

PMMA is the same material that is used for the front window of the sensor, the only difference is the color. LPC-DX50 is transparent, the sensor window has a filter behavior. The LPC-DX50 does not make the window more robust against mechanical impact (scratches etc.). The advantage is that replacing a damaged LPC is cheaper than replacing the entire sensor.

This protection is usually used for welding and similar "heavy metal" applications. You can also use the control panel cover and the LPC-DX50 at the same time (this is possible for devices since November 2010).
