Following table and pictures show upgrade kits available for conversion from DME3000/4000/5000 to DL100 Pro, using the interfaces SSI, RS-422 or PROFIBUS.

These kits contain all necessary components except the DL100 Pro Distance sensor which must be selected according to the application requirements like e.g. max. distance range. They allow easy installation within a few minutes. The adapter plate included in the kit allows the DL100 Pro to be mounted using the existing hole pattern of the DME alignment bracket provided on the system side. The electrical connection is made using the pre-assembled cable adapters that are also included, while retaining the existing DME connection cable in the system.

After conversion to DL100 Pro, the optical axis of the laser either corresponds to the axis of the originally installed DME (applies when replacing DME5000 with alignment bracket part no. 2027721) or deviates only slightly from it (approx. +25 mm vertical offset when replacing DME4000 combined with alignment bracket part no. 2046052 or part no. 2040695; approx. -50 mm vertical offset when replacing DME3000 combined with alignment bracket part no. 2015229)

The operating instructions enclosed with the upgrade kit describes the detailed steps involved. It also contains information on the configuration and compatibility of the data protocols depending on the interface used. Important notes!

• The DME3000-2xx devices measuring on natural objects cannot be replaced by DL100 Pro, as these can only be used on reflective tape "Diamond Grade".
  
  
• If the previous DME was any special version (DMExxxx-xxxSxx or DME3000-xxxPxx) please contact your local SICK representative to check a suitable replacement).
  
  
• If the previous DME was used with accessories such as deflection mirrors, cooling units, protective housings etc., the upgrade kits can only be used to a limited extent. In this case, please contact your local SICK representative.
  
  
• If DME3000 devices have not been used with reflective tape "Diamond Grade" but with any other reflector like e.g. reflective tape 3290, reflective tape 7610 or multi-reflectors PL240F/560F/880F this needs to be exchanged as DL100 Pro is only specified on "Diamond Grade" reflective tape.

• When using the DL100 Pro in a control loop, slight adjustments to the existing controller parameters may be necessary in order to achieve the desired control behavior due to the shorter measuring cycle time and the shorter response time compared to DME.
