P521 - Information, datasheet and possible replacement with DAX

Description:

The P521 was an old hydraulic cylinder sensor, based on hall sensors (it had the same sensing technology as the KHK53). Because of a too big price pressure, the product was phased out years ago. We do not have a 1:1 replacement. A similar sensor system is the "DAX" or "MAX48" and "MAX30" encoder series. But so far, it is not possible to use them as a replacement

Possible replacement with DAX - Important points to consider

Check required if DAX Threaded can be used by the customer. Therefore detailled check needs to be carried out in terms of:

• Mechanical mounting of the sensor (Thread at DAX vs. flange installation at P521)
• Different tube diameter needs to be taken into consideration
• Different magnet dimensions needs to be evaluated
• Different electronics housing length of DAX vs. P521
• Different electrical connection
• Diffferent electrical interface characteristics
