Challenge:

The strand wires are lifted up tightly. It should be checked whether the shielding has been applied without gaps.

Since the shielding runs coaxially around the strands, the scanning must be checked from different sides.

Solution: Our metric inductive sensor IMC08-02BPPVC0SA00 1079280  or IMC18** which comes with IO-Link.

How to set up:

To ensure a full coverage with the shielding we need to check from different angles.

Important to consider is the mounting position between the different IMC sensors to avoid mutual interference. You can find these information on our website.

Open our free sensor parameterization software SopasET (you can download it here) and check the received signal of the sensor(s). The difference between a well shielded strand wire and a non properly shielded should be around (min) 500 dig.

This ensures a safe detection of gaps.

Now you we are able to handle the sensor outputs on our PLC or in a IO-Link Master like for e.g. SIG350.
