Have you checked the T&T Systems General Troubleshooting Guide?

Please ask yourself the following Questions:

  1. What are the conveyor conditions? (constant speed / belt-gaps / belt-length / sideguards / damages / sagging)
  2. How does the parcel-flow look? (object shapes & size / singulated or side-by-side or even touching flow
  3. Are Beam-Blocker installed that fully cover the LMS-Laser?
  4. Are there any obstacles in the field of view of the LMS? (f. ex. frame parts or cables)
  5. Are the Status LEDs of the LMS constant or blinking green?
  6. Does the LMS-Master receive expected Encoder pulses (SOPAS-AIR Diagnose)?
  7. Does the LMS-Lasers turn on while objects passes the system?
  8. Does the VMS have enough time for dimensioning? (>=700ms from VMS-Laser to Object Release
  9. How are the dimensioning results and the OMS-states on the wooden standard testbox (402x302x202)?

Indicators of root causes

LMS Lasers do not turn on

  • Do we receive a proper speed & trigger signal?
  • Is “send continous clock” enabled in the Controller?
  • Are the status LEDs of the LMS constant or blinking green?
  • Is the Laser Gate Control activated with the correct source-ID from Controller?

Error on device

  • Is a CAN connection to the LMS-heads available?
  • Does the Controller receive Slice-Data from the LMS? (verify with diagnosis tool in SOPAS-AIR)

Dimensioning timing problems

  • Do we have more than 700ms configured between VMS-Laser and Object Release?
  • Are there obstacles within the field of view of the LMS-Laser (cables / frame)
  • Is the dimensioning area free and the measurements not disturbed by belt noise?

Measurement accuracy

  • Which dimensions are affected (Length / Width / Height)›Does these error occur on every object (100%) or just on certain objects (x%)?
  • Does the VMS systematically overestimate or underestimate or is the deviation in both directions?
  • Is it possible to provoke the measurement error under certain conditions (Object position / orientation / shape / size)
  • Do we have a correct calibration? (verify with wooden standard testbox 402x302x202)
  • Are the grey cables to synchronize the speed of the polygon mirrors from primary and secondary LMS connected?
  • Is the dimensioning area free and the measurements not disturbed by belt noise
