The measurement data from the sensor can be output as raw data via the two data formats Messagepack (MSGPACK) and Compact.
2D Object Detection
INTEGRATED APPLICATION
PICOSCAN 2D FIELD EVALUATION
1134371
2D object detection provides a simple option for environment perception. This occurs using flexibly adaptable fields and many other functions, e.g. island fields, or controlling and changing the fields via Ethernet telegrams.

INTEGRATED APPLICATION
PICOSCAN TEACH-IN
1146090
2D Object Detection Advanced offers powerful functions for advanced evaluation of objects in the field of view.
Teach-in: Teach-in of the current environment for reliable monitoring of the free field of view.
Contour as reference: Precise detection and monitoring of a reference contour.
Perpendicular distance measurement: Determination of the minimum and maximum perpendicular distance between detected objects and a defined reference line.
To be able to use 2D Object Detection Advanced, you need the 2D Object Detection package.

Dynamic Sensing Profile package
DIGITAL ADD ON
PICOSCAN DYNAMIC SENSING PROFILE 1 | 15Hz & 0.5°
1134357
Dynamic sensing profiles enable the measurement characteristics to be dynamically adjusted during operation by switching between numerous preset scan configurations. No restart of the sensor is required for this.
This optimizes the LiDAR sensor for the specific requirements of subtasks. For an autonomous mobile robot, these tasks include performing precise measurements (e.g., for fine positioning at close range or docking to a charging station), environment perception over a wide area (for example for navigating in large buildings or outdoor areas), and situations in which short response times are required (e.g., for collision avoidance).
This package reduces data volume by filtering sensor data within defined regions of interest. By focusing only on relevant areas, it lowers bandwidth and processing requirements while ensuring that only meaningful data is passed on for further use.

PICOSCAN PARTICLE FILTER
1134377
In addition to measurement data output, the measurement data acquired by the sensor can be filtered for unwanted effects or contamination on the optics cover displayed. This increases the reliability of the application. especially in very harsh environments such as outdoor applications.
PICOSCAN CONTAMINATION DETECTION

PICOSCAN FOG FILTER

Multi-echo technology
DIGITAL ADD ON
PICOSCAN MULTI ECHO
1134382
The distance between the LiDAR sensor and an object is calculated using the time-of-flight of the pulse emitted from the sensor. Sensors with multi-echo function can evaluate multiple echo signals for each measuring beam emitted, which allows them to deliver reliable measurement results. The sensor can output up to three echoes and be adjusted by the echo filter.
IMU (Internal Measurement Unit)
DIGITAL ADD ON
PICOSCAN INERTIAL MEASUREMENT UNIT
1134384
The measurement data of the integrated inertial measurement unit (IMU) can be called up from the sensor as secondary sensor data via UDP stream. The acceleration along the x-, y- and z-axis including the gyro data is output in the process.
Reflector detection
DIGITAL ADD ON
PICOSCAN REFLECTOR RECOGNITION
1134386
When the sensor detects a reflector, this information is included in the measurement data. It is available in the user interface and in the data telegram. This makes it easier to differentiate between natural targets and reflectors.
To be able to use reflector detection, you also need the measurement data output.
To be able to use the reflector-based field evaluation, you also need 2D (picoScan) / 3D (multiScan) Object Detection.
PTP

PICOSCAN TIME SYNC PTP
1134388
Precision Time Protocol (PTP)
LMDscandata
DIGITAL ADD ON
PICOSCAN LMD SCANDATA
1135217
When changing from TiM or LMS1xx series sensors to picoScan100, you can easily add the LMDscandata data format. It complements the Compact and MSGPACK data formats included as standard in the picoScan100.
Native ROS2
DIGITAL ADD ON
PICOSCAN ROSCONNECT
1141364
Native ROS 2 support is useful when using a picoScan100 in a ROS 2 environment. The sensor outputs the measurement data in the standard ROS data types “Laserscan” and “PointCloud2” via the Data Distribution Service (DDS) communication standard. No external ROS driver is therefore needed.
