RFU6xx - FastID Feature

FastID is a feature supported by selected Impinj transponders, which allows the RFU6xx device to quickly access the transponders unique TID during an inventory operation. Normally the reading of the TID requires additional reading commands. If the FastID is activated the transponder answers with a combined EPC+TID information.

• improved reading speed - reading out the TID does not require an additional read TID command
• Read transponders with same EPC - It is possible to read and distinguish transponders with the same EPC data since the TID information is unique for each transponder

FastID is available for firmware version V2.52 or newer for the following devices: RFU610, RFU620, RFU630, RFU650

This feature can be found on the SOPAS page "Transponder Processing" and can be activated as soon as a login as Service has been done.

The default password for the userlevel "Service" is "servicelevel".

After the activation of FastID the EPC contains also the TID of the transponder. For this example an Impinj M830 transponder was used.

⚠ Please notice that the Transponder Access page within SOPAS ET is not supporting FastID. Therefore accessing the tag via Tag Access will fail. However writing the EPC is still possible by commands or Tag-Processing.
