Task
Several WTT12L are mounted closely together to reach a bigger detection area.
Never mount body to body! there must be an air gap in-between to avoid heating-up
Questions
Which is the recommended minimum distance between the light spots? What else must be considered? How about parallel connection of push-pull outputs?
In General
Our WTT12L are very robust in terms of interference, in case of only two sensors that risk is close to zero. But we always must have a careful look for the ambient conditions around the sensor.
Recommendations
a) Diffuse targets
Due to the very small laser spot the minimum distance between 2 spots should be at least 1 housing width (20mm) In case of further distance please consider +/- 1.5° deviation tolerance related to the mechanical mounting axis. That is also important in case of sensor exchange, that the position of light spot can change.
b) Reflective targets or reflective background
Be careful of any reflective objects, which can cause bad mirror effects. Those mirror effects typically can cause a fail distance measurement.
c) Logical OR connection of several WTT12L sensors
Please be aware, push-pull outputs cannot be parallelly connected. Should be done via PLC or other I/O control unit.
