The SRM64 / SRS64 motor feedback system

Table of Contents

Basic information

The SRM64 / SRS64 motor feedback system series was designed to build outside at a motor. Thus it has a higher IP rating compared to the SRM50 / SRS50, which is designed to mount inside a motor.

The SRM64 / SRS64 is phased out. The replacement series is the SFM60 / SFS60 series.

What needs to be considered?

There are 2 main topics which needs to be considered:

  • The size of the SRM64 / SRS64 stator coupling (distance between the holes) is "72 mm".
At the standard SFS60 / SFM60 stator coupling, the distance is 63 mm.
Thus, the stator coupling option "4" neds to be decided, then the replacement fits mechanically
  • The SRM64 / SRS64 had an universal shaft dimension. The exact dimension was made with a shaft collet.
The SFS60 / SFM60 has individual shaft sizes. To get the right replacement for the customer, you need to clarify the needed shaft diameter with your customer

Replacement suggestion for standard devices

The missing digit needs to be replaced by the shaft diameter (please clarify with your customer):

  • K = 8mm
  • 1 = 3/8"
  • L = 10mm
  • M = 12mm
  • N = 1/2"
  • R = 14mm
  • P = 15mm

The suggested replacements are all trough hollow shaft encoders, due to the fact that the SRM64 / SRS64 was also designed as a through hollow shaft device. But the SFM60 / SFS60 is also available as a blind hollow shaft device.

There are also other stator coupling options available.
