The LFP Inox level sensor is available with either a G3/4 or 3/4 NPT process connection thread. To enable integration into applications requiring hygienic design, a wide range of process connection adapters is available. Please refer to the "Accessories" section of the sensor on sick.com.

Important: These adapters are compatible only with the sensor version with the G3/4 process connection thread. They are not compatible with the 3/4 NPT thread version.

The hygienic process connection adapters are screwed onto the G3/4 thread of the sensor (see picture 2). The sharp circular metal edge of the adapter presses against the sensor’s plastic cone (PEEK), creating a seal between the sensor and the tank.

Do not use an additional flat seal on the upper side of the adapter. Doing so would prevent the sensor from being screwed in deeply enough, resulting in a gap at the lower side of the adapter (see picture 3). This gap would allow liquid to enter the process connection.

If the sensor is installed in a humid environment or is cleaned from the outside, an O-ring seal can be added to the upper side of the adapter (see picture 4). This seal prevents liquid from entering the process connection from above.

Note: The O-ring seal is included with the following adapter types that come with a test certificate type 3.1 (EN 10204):

2122489 – Weld-in flange, hygienic, G 3/4”
2126242 – Tri-Clamp 1” and 1 ½”
2126243 – Tri-Clamp 2”

For other adapter types, the seal is not included, but it can be added optionally.
