IMC18 A00 in a Vertical Logistic System

The task from the sensor is to check whether the lift is in the right position.

So now, why the IMC? What is so advanced?

Here are the old and new situation:

 

On the shelf you have a target mounted which should be detected (the red line). The shelfs are moving vertically by the way.

Here is a "real" picture.

 

As you see the whole construct has a tolerance of +/-2 mm. Till now it was IM18-08NPS-ZWX installed. With the new situation it could following happen:

3 mm+6 mm =9 mm +/-2 mm tolerance = 7 mm or 11 mm distance.

The problem hereby is: With the old sensor it could happen that the sensor does not switch off, because 8 mm > 7 mm.

But the manufacture wants to have a Sensor with a M18 Thread. And there is no normal sensor with M18 Thread, non-flush and < 8mm scanning distance.

So, this is the point where the IMC18*A00 gets in. Due to the possibility to create different switching point concerning the attenuation, the IMC18 could solve the application as well as the customer needs.
