The device warms up during the first few minutes. During this time, a value drift is to be expected, which is due to thermal changes affecting various electronic and optical parts. This drift decreases over time until after about 15 to 20 minutes there is no change in distance due to the temperature change caused by warming up.
We cannot provide an exact curve of the warm-up behaviour, as this varies between the individual devices. Please see following diagram for a typical behaviour of a Dx35 during warm-up. It shows the typical deviation from the final value regarding the warm-up phase under stable ambient conditions and unchanged distance to the target.
It cannot be ensured whether the device displays a deviation from the final value from the + or - direction. Please note that these are only typical values. There are devices with higher or lower deviations than shown in the diagram.
