1. Technical Specification of the Process Connection
Based on the provided engineering drawing, the pressure sensor features a specific process connection designed to seal mechanically with high precision. The dimensions and standards are captured below:
Connection Thread: G 1/4" parallel thread according to ISO 228-1 / EN 837-1.
Inner Bore Hole: Ø 3 mm for fluid passage.
Centring Pin: Ø 5 mm outer profile at the front edge (indicated by the green arrow in the picture below).
Centring Pin Length: 2 mm front edge depth with a total connection length of 13 mm.
Hex Nut Width: SW27 (hex 27 mm) body for mounting torque application.
2. Certified Sealing Material Options
For food, beverage, or pharmaceutical processes, the sealing materials must maintain full compliance with European and US regulatory frameworks. Below arethree materials, which are suitable for this mechanical configuration:

FDA Regulation
EU Regulation
Applications & Mechanical Properties
PTFE (Virgin or Modified / Gylon®)
21 CFR 177.1550 (Perfluorocarbon resins)
(EC) No 1935/2004, GMP No 2023/2006
Universal chemical resistance. Virgin PTFE is prone to cold flow (creeping). Modified PTFE (e.g., Gylon®) is highly recommended for flat gaskets to prevent dimensional deformation under thread pressure.
EPDM
21 CFR 177.2600 (Rubber articles)
(EC) No 1935/2004, GMP No 2023/2006
Optimal for water-based media, CIP/SIP cleaning loops (acids/alkalis), and saturated high-temperature steam. Soft elastomer requiring a profiled seal/lip ring structure to avoid over-extrusion in the thread.
FKM (Viton®)
21 CFR 177.2600(Rubber articles)
(EC) No 1935/2004, GMP No 2023/2006
Excellent performance in high-temperature environments and with oily or fatty products (e.g., dairy, vegetable oils). Limited long-term resistance to direct high-pressure continuous steam.
