Table of Contents

A minimum distance between SP1 and SP2 of switching outputs Q1 and Q2 should be maintained. This recommended distance helps prevent unintended switching state changes (SP1 → SP2 or SP2 → SP1) caused by normal fluctuations in the sensor readings. The required minimum distance is expressed differently depending on the selected measurement mode (see below table).

Measurement mode Minimum distance between SP1 and SP2 Remarks
Velocity relative (%) 10 %
Velocity absolute

Water: 0.1 m/s

Other: 0.3 m/s

Volume flow and counter

Water: 0.1 m/s * A

Other: 0.3 m/s * A

A: Pipe cross section area (A = Pi*(d/2)²)

d: Pipe diameter set in the sensor

Teach relative (%) 8 % Of taught range

If SP1 and SP2 are too close, a warning is shown on the sensor display:

Once the distance between SP1 and SP2 exceeds the limits specified in the table above, the warning will disappear.

Note

This warning is for informational purposes - the sensor will continue to operate and measure normally. However, it is still advisable to maintain the minimum distance to avoid incorrect switching behavior.
