The MaxCol function of the LFP guided wave radar level sensor suppresses short-duration, high-amplitude signals that occur above the actual product level. Such signals are typically caused by jets of liquid during cleaning processes or by medium splashing against the sensor probe. Without suppression, these transient signals may be incorrectly interpreted by the sensor as valid level echoes.
The MaxCol function filters out signals that would otherwise result in implausibly rapid changes in the measured level value, thereby improving measurement stability and reliability.
Note
If the jet of liquid onto the probe continues for a prolonged period, the sensor may eventually interpret the signal as an actual level signal, causing an incorrect level reading. Once the liquid jet disappears, the MaxCol function slightly delays the return to the correct level reading.
