Different ways to change field polygons in the object detection application

GUI click-based

Using the graphical user interface of the device, it is possible to create and edit fields. Also see this video: https://support.sick.com/sick-knowledgebase/article/?code=KA-10042

GUI copy & paste JSON snippets

In addition, the graphical user interface offers the possibility to change existing fields by inserting JSON snippets.

Click the JSON button in the footer toolbar of the Field Settings dialog (highlighted with red border above) to toggle between the coordinate table view and the JSON text view. Paste a prepared JSON snippet directly into the text area to update all polygon point coordinates at once.

Download & import configuration files

Existing configuration files (holding the full parametrization, including the field geometries) can be downloaded from an existing device and imported into the same device family.

Access both options via the hamburger menu in the top-right corner of the web GUI:

REST

Via the HTTP/REST interface, it is possible to use the endpoint /SetFieldEvaluationContour to change the field polygons. An example using the Python module sick_scan_rest_client can be found here:

Cola

Via the CoLa interface, it is possible to use the telegram SetFieldEvaluationContour to change the field polygons (see individual operating instructions).

The SDK utilizes the REST interface to change the field polygons. An example using the sick_perception_sdk can be found here:
