Programmable DFS2x encoders are recognizable at the electrical/communication interface "P".
Programmable is then the output type HTL or TTL as well as the pulses per revolution, the electrical/mechanical zero pulse width and the counting direction.
But this is NOT working with all programmable DFS2x encoders. The decisive factor is which connection type the encoder has.
In the picture below you can see the PIN assignments of all available connection types.
You also see what connection types are NOT programmable. DFS2x encoders with
MS, 7-pin connector
MS, 6-pin connector
WHY?
Due to the fact that the PGT's need both signals from the marker, so "Z" and "ZN" (or Z/), for the programming process, those connection types just have the signal "Z".
Therefore, the "programmable" DFS2x encoders with a MS, 7-pin or MS, 6-pin connector are not programmable.
