The light spot diameter of the Dx50 and Dx50-2 depends on the distance and temperature. The diameter can be calculated as follows - the calculator setting must be DEG:

at +20 °Cdiameter [mm] = 4 mm + 2 * tan(0.025) * distance [mm]

Typical light spot dimension:

  • 20 m -> approx. 21 mm
  • 30 m -> approx. 30 mm
  • 50 m -> approx. 47 mm


Please note: The actual light spot diameter can vary from one sensor to another by up to +/- 20%.
