This video showcases the performance benefits of the GroundFilter in dynamic indoor environments, highlighting the improvements over standard field evaluation without the GroundFilter.
Working principle
The GroundFilter brings the possibillity to insert an upper as well as an lower treshold value for the ground. This brings the perfect possibillity especially for moving objects to protect the field evaluation from false triggering because of the ground. If the filter has been set up correctly there will be no restriction in detecting small objects like a forklift tine. This feature is very interesting especially for applications in industrial environments. It can be used in both indoor and outdoor applications. The ground filter affects both the field evaluation and the new perpendicular distance app.
The violet lines show the upper as well as the lower treshold.
Usage
indoor and outdoor applications
better detection of small objects lying on the ground
no gap offset to the ground to compensate movement is needed → Polygons can be drawn through the groun
compensation of ego-motion
detection of cliffs & gaps
detection of mirroring ground (water puddles)
