Advantages and disadvantages of the reflector types PL40A antifog and heated reflectors PL50HS/HK. Both are intended for use in e.g. humid environments where condensation can form. The temperature range is the same.

Advantages of PL40A / PL80A-AF, antifog:

 

  • No electrical installation necessary.

 

  • Inexpensive solution

 

Disadvantages:

 

antifog only effective in the temperature range +10°C to +65°C

 

 

 

Advantages of heated reflector PL50HK:

  

  • constant heating available, i.e. from - 20° to + 65°C

 

Disadvantages:

 

  • Electrical installation required

 

  • Higher price compared to standard reflectors

 

 

 

Advantages of heated reflector PL50HS:

 

  • heating effective at temp. < 15°C

 

  • Heating in defined temperature range,

 

Disadvantages:

  • electrical installation necessary
  • critical with steam
  • Limiting value at dew point > 15°C, i.e. with steam
  • Higher price because of the additional electrical installation
