  • I want to share one application example with You
  • In that example we want to configure the FlexChain Host in such a way, that the switching output indicates if the box is empty or not.

Used sensors:

  • 4 x GTB6 are watching if the box is empty
    sensor 1….4
  • 2 x GL6 as trigger sensors, sensing the wall of box
sensor 5 & 6 – blanking the front & back edge of box

Zone Configuration

we start with the Zone Configuration:

As you see, the Zones are equal to the sensor channels.

  • Zone 1 = Qint 1 = Sensor 1
  • Zone 2 = Qint 2 = Sensor 2
  • and so on

according to the above picture:
sensors 1...4 = OFF status, sensor 5...6 = ON

Logic Configuration

next step is the Logics editor

  • Logic 1 = sensor 1 … 4  detect no object
  • Logic 2 = trigger sensor 5 & 6 = window enable
  • Logic 3 = result = Box empty

Pin Configuration

next step is to do the Pin assignment

  • Pin 4 = switching ON when box is empty
  • Pin 2 = switching OFF when box is present

Process Data Configuration

Last but not least we have a look at the Process Data.
That is only necessary if Bus interface is used, for instance IO-Link or RS 485

In that example we use one of the pre-defined PD configurations - -  see profile.
