The heating variants of the Dx500 (Dx500-x2xx, -x4xx, -x6xx) contain a flat heating element. If the internal temperature of the unit falls below -10 °C, the heater is automatically activated; if it rises above 0 °C, it is deactivated again. These switching points are fixed and cannot be changed.

To ensure sufficient heating power, the supply voltage must be at least 24 V DC. Please also take into account a possible voltage drop on the cable between the power supply unit and the device.

Under certain conditions, the heating power may not be sufficient. Knowledge article no. KA-08821 already describes how the power of the internal heating can be increased for the DL100 distance sensors. The same applies to Dx500 with exception of the nominal heating power, which is 20 W @ 24V for Dx500.
