The design of the clamping ring for the following encoders with blind or through hollow shaft has been changed:

 

  • VFS60
  • A3M60
  • AFx60
  • DFS2x
  • DFS60
  • DFV60
  • SFx60

The old clamping ring looks like shown in the pictures below.

It was striking that the old clamping ring had a through hole for the clamping ring screw.

The new design of the clamping ring looks a little bit different. The through hole was changed to a blind hole.

On the left side of the picture the new design of the clamping ring is shown. On the right side the old design can be found.

The reason for this design change in 2020 is that the old clamping ring often broke and wasn't so sturdy.
Due to the change to the blind hole there is more material now on the new clamping ring which leads to an higher stability.

If you check the product pictures on the homepage you will notice that those pictures are still showing the old design of the clamping ring.

As an example you see below a picture from a DFS60.

All hollow shaft encoders as listed above are having the clamping ring with the new design since 2020.
