MPB10 parametrization to use only 2 switching outputs

One potential application for the condition monitoring sensor MPB10 is to operate it independently without an IO-Link connection, utilizing the two switching outputs for, for example, preliminary and maximum alerts.

The IO-Link connection is required solely for parameterization. Connect the MPB10 through the Silink IO-Link master to your computer, and launch the SOPAS Interface for the MPB10.

The parametrization provided is an example; consider it a starting point and feel free to adjust it according to the specific requirements of your actual application.

Here is the chosen parameterization:

switching output Q1 Pin4 (black wire) - Diagnostic Alert 1 - Bit 6 to alert/ direct alert/ v-RMS pre-max.

switching output Q2 Pin2 (white wire) - Diagnostic Alert 2 - Bit 7 to alert/ direct alert/ v-RMS max.
The relation written in bold is fixed (without IO-Link connection); the others are freely configurable.

We start to set the relation of the vibration indication values to the Diagnostic alerts.
(The grey values in brackets are for non-SOPAS configuration directly via IO-Link master.)
In the home tab view, click on the "process data user definition" button and proceed to select the following options:

Set Diagnostic Alert 1 - Bit 6 to alert/ direct alert/ v-RMS pre-max.
(index 67 (0x43) subindex 7 (0x07) to 75 = Direct alert: Vibration v-RMS pre-max)

Set Diagnostic Alert 2 - Bit 7 to alert/ direct alert/ v-RMS max.
(index 67 (0x43) subindex 8 (0x08) to 76 = Direct alert: Vibration v-RMS max)

Click on "OK" at the bottom:

Next, we set the relation of diagnostic alert 2 to switching output Q2.

Click on the next tab "General Device settings",
click on "Pin 2 Configuration/ Pin 2" and choose "Switching signal QL2":
(index 121 (0x79) to 34 = Switching signal QL2)

Go to the "Alert Configuration" and if needed choose a suitable alert delay time to blank out eg. short disturbances from bypassing vehicles
(index 4842 (0x12EA) subindex 1 (0x01) to ... Data type: UInt32)

Selecting an appropriate "Automatic alert reset time" could be helpful because without IO-Link connection this is the only way to reset occured alerts.

A 1000 ms reset time is good for testing; please adjust this to match the cycle time of your evaluation unit that processes these alarm signals.
(index 4842 (0x12EA) subindex 2 (0x02) to 1000 Data type: UInt32)

Now the switching output Q1 should be activated for 1000 ms when the pre-maximum v-RMS switching threshold is surpassed and the switching output Q2 should be activated for 1000 ms when the maximum v-RMS switching threshold is exceeded.

switching output Q1 Pin4 (black wire) - Diagnostic Alert 1 - Bit 6 to alert/ direct alert/ v-RMS pre-max.

switching output Q2 Pin2 (white wire) - Diagnostic Alert 2 - Bit 7 to alert/ direct alert/ v-RMS max.

After that please setting up the MPB10 standard configuration according to the chapter "4.3.2 Settings for vibration analysis" in the MPB10 manual. Than you can check if the parametrization works as expected by creating
slight vibrations > Q1 = v-RMS pre-max = active
stronger vibrations > Q2 = v-RMS max = active
