What is the CFS50?

The CFS50 is an incremental motor feedback system with commutation signals (block commutation). This encoder series is used servo motor applications (inside the motor).
The previous encoder series was the CNS50 (see the linked Knowledge Article KN-09858).

Why is the CFS50 in the Archive?

The CFS50 is not phased out. It will be still produced and customer can order it.

But we do not want to generate new business or customers with this encoder, because we do not want to keep it very long alive.

Therefore, it is no more visible at SICK.com.

 

But there is no official phase out planed so far.
