Can all types of fiber optic cables be used in potential explosive atmospheres?

Table of Contents

No. Even if a fiber optic cable has no electrical parts, they can transmit large amounts of energy in the form of light. Furthermore, plastic fibers can be electrostatically charged, which can lead to dangerous sparks.
We therefore recommend the WLL24, which is ATEX-tested with the associated fiber optic cables.
