⚙️ Software and system requirements for software installation
SICK AppManager software tool
Operating systems:
Windows 7 (32 bit and 64 bit), Windows 10 or Windows 11
Ubuntu Linux 14.04, 16.04, 18.04, 22.04 on x86_64 (64 bit)
Raspian Buster on ARM32 (32 bit)
1 GHz CPU or comparable and at least 1 GB RAM
Free hard disk space: 250 MB
Ethernet: 100 MBit/s or higher. 1 Gbit/s or faster is recommended for best performance during configuration of the device
🛠️ Installation
Please follow the instructions below and carefully read the release notes before starting the installation of the AI-Assist software.
Important Notice: Please make sure the minimum required firmware is installed. It can be found in the chapter “Supported Firmware”.
If necessary, update the device firmware before the update of the software.
🔧 Preparation: Configuration backups
The AI-Assist configuration is not preserved during the software update process. Use SICK AppManager to create a backup of the existing AI-Assist configuration. The resulting *.sbpk file can also be used to duplicate the configuration. Any licenses will be retained during the software update process.
Note: Due to major technical changes, configurations exported with AI-Assist version 1.4.0 are not fully compatible with version 2.0.2. We recommend setting up a new configuration with version 2.0.2, subsequently creating a backup of the configuration, which can then be used for duplication in future deployments.
🔄 Installing and Updating Software via Sick AppManager
To update the software of your device using Sick AppManager, follow these steps:
Launch Sick AppManager and ensure your device is connected.
In the upper left pane, click Search devices.
Double-click the listed device you want to update.
The device and app data will now appear in the lower left pane.
If the device information does not appear there, ensure that the IP configuration of your Ethernet adapter is compatible with the device IP.
In case there are any Apps installed on the device: Delete all Apps
In the upper right window pane, click on the "Local Packages" tab and choose the software file (*.sapk). If the correct software file is not listed click on the ➕ symbol (Add packages to repository).
Finally, click on install and follow the on-screen instructions.
When prompted for credentials, log in using the Service user level. User: Service Password: [your custom password] 💡 If the password has not been changed, the default is: CUST_SERV
If you have installed the AI-Assist software on a device for the first time, you must activate the software with a corresponding license key. You can obtain it on sick.com or via your local sales representative.
