⚙️ Software and system requirements for software installation
SICK AppManager software tool
Operating systems:
Windows 7 (32 bit and 64 bit), Windows 10 or Windows 11
Ubuntu Linux 14.04, 16.04, 18.04, 22.04 on x86_64 (64 bit)
Raspian Buster on ARM32 (32 bit)
1 GHz CPU or comparable and at least 1 GB RAM
Free hard disk space: 250 MB
Ethernet: 100 MBit/s or higher. 1 Gbit/s or faster is recommended for best performance during configuration of the device
🛠️ Installation
Please follow the instructions below and carefully read the release notes before starting the installation of the AI-Assist software.
Import Notice: Please make sure the minimum required firmware is installed. It can be found in the chapter “Supported Firmware”.
If necessary, update the device firmware before the update of the software.
🔧 Preparation: Configuration backups
Use SICK AppManager to create a backup of the installed apps and their configuration. The resulting *.sbpk file can also be used to duplicate the configuration. Any licenses will be retained during the software update process.
In case there are any Apps installed on the device: Delete all Apps
In the upper right window pane, click on the "Local Packages" tab and choose the software file (*.sapk). If the correct software file is not listed click on the ➕ symbol (Add packages to repository).
Finally, click on install and follow the on-screen instructions.
When prompted for credentials, log in using the Service user level. User: Service Password: [your custom password] 💡 If the password has not been changed, the default is: CUST_SERV
If you have installed the AI-Assist software on a device for the first time, you must activate the software with a corresponding license key. You can obtain it on sick.com or via your local sales representative.

DHCP and RTSP active
The application crashes after restarting the device when DHCP is enabled and RTSP is active.
Factory Reset
The factory reset does not work when the password is not default. In this case it is needed to trigger the factory reset a second time.
Field configuration via API
The field configuration via API does not return an error code when the polygon contains an invalid coordinate
Wrong link to interface description
The UI includes a wrong link to the interface description of the device
IO output mode NPN
The NPN output mode behaves in the opposite way to what is expected.
